A Guide to Buying Vintage

(n.) Vintage ('Vint-ij) - Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic.

We offer only vintage and antique exotic skin items.  Because they are not new items, they are rarely absolutely perfect.  They may show mild wear from gentle use, which we will rate based on the condition chart below, and will fully detail in our item descriptions.

We also try to be conservative with our ratings - what someone else may sell as mint, we will undoubtedly list as excellent or near mint. We prefer our customers to be pleasantly surprised, and would prefer to risk losing a sale based on our condition rating, versus having someone that just purchased the bag of their dreams be disappointed!

And, lastly, you will never receive a bag from us that has a "vintage smell" as some so (un)eloquently put it. Vintage does not (and should not) equal old and stinky! If a bag smells musty, it means it has been exposed to moisture, and moisture equals dry rot.

 
*** Vintage Condition Chart ***

'Mint'
As new, no flaws or visible wear - appears unused, and typically very rare to find vintage or antique bags in this condition

'Near Mint'
Previously worn or used with minimal to no wear (i.e., light wear/scratches to hardware, a tiny interior mark) - as near to new as possible despite age and having been previously owned

'Excellent'
Previously worn or used without any major cosmetic flaws (no structural flaws), but is perhaps suffering a very small cosmetic blemish or two

'Very Good'
Previously worn or used with some noted minor flaws (i.e., some more than typical wear on interior, age related issues, etc.), but fully carryable and functional as is

'Good'
Previously worn or used with noted cosmetic or structural flaws, "wearable" (usable) as is

'Fair'
Numerous noted flaws (both structural and cosmetic), possibly "wearable" with care or after repair. PLEASE NOTE: We do not sell items that are in fair vintage or antique condition.
