About
Us
We understand that purchasing over the Internet
can sometimes be scary. It lacks the "touchy,
feely, trying it on" aspect, and the face-to-face
interaction that some people are traditionally
more comfortable with. If you have not done
business with us before, we would like you to
know that we are fully committed to our customers,
and the entire customer experience that comes
with doing business with us. We stand behind
the quality and authenticity of all of the items
that we sell.
Our vast customer base includes individuals and
dealers from all over the world, some who have
done business with us since we started, as well
as new customers that have just "discovered"
us! Roughly 85%-90% are repeat customers, and
many (most) are multiple purchasers. And, although
we have never met personally, we have, in some
way, touched each others lives...whether it
be through cultivated friendships, centers of
interest, or simply exchanging a small part
of history between us.
We sincerely thank you for your trust, your continued
business, and your initial decision to purchase
from Vintage Skins. If you prefer to talk by
phone, please contact
us and we'll be happy to give you
a ring!
With this said, we want you to know who you are doing business with,
and thought it important to answer the question
"Who is Vintage Skins?"

Lisa Corbett created Vintage Skins in late 2004
to be a unique online boutique that focuses
exclusively on vintage and antique
exotic skin handbags and accessories. Her hope
was to share her deep admiration and passion
for these beautiful items, educate people on
their differences and care, and reconnect today's
generation with the timeless style and opulence
of generations past. She believes that every
woman should be able to affordably own a one-of-a-kind
exotic skin bag that can endure as a cherished
family heirloom.
Lisa
has been personally collecting vintage exotic
skin bags for almost 10 years. Her grandmother,
Madeline, who was born in 1908 and was one of
the most influential people in her life, was
the inspiration for her first purchase of a
1908 antique Edwardian
hornback alligator bag. The power that was
held in that little antique purse was simply
overwhelming to her...Who owned this bag? What
were they like? What significant events had
this beautiful bag been through? And, oh how
someone must have cherished this bag enough
to care for it so well that it would end up
in her hands almost 100 years later. She has
been in love ever since...collecting, selling
and restoring the beautiful skin handbags from
the past 100 years.
Prior to starting Vintage Skins, Lisa worked
in the financial services industry for 11 years,
and had her own business as an independent strategic
marketing consultant.
